Re: B.Tech from IIT

In IIT admission is based on JEE scores so for admission in B.Tech you have to clear JEE exam main & advanced both.

Exam preparation tips-

Make study plan. Once you prepare your study plan, it is important to follow the same.

Focus on your goals and its deadlines.

Solve previous year question paper.

Do preparation according to the exam pattern and syllabus.

JEE Main 2015 Paper Pattern

Before moving further, let’s have a look on the Paper pattern of the JEE Main 2015

JEE Main 2015 Exam has two papers. Paper I & Paper II.

Paper pattern for Paper I - Computer Based Exam (Online) & Pen & Paper Based Exam (Offline)

Objective type question with multiple choices

Each question carries 4 marks & one negative mark is deducted for each wrong attempt

Paper I shall be comprised of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics questions with equal weight-age to all 3 subjects.

Time duration: 3 hours

Paper pattern for Paper II

Paper II is being conducted for admissions into Architecture/Planning Courses.

The entire paper is divided into three parts: Part I – Mathematics, Part II – Aptitude Test, Part III – Drawing Test

Important topics:

Physics: In addition to Mechanics and Electrodynamics; enough time must be allotted to Heat and Thermodynamics, Optics and Modern Physics. These topics are generally the most neglected topics which then can prove to be risk factors. But they are the easiest and scoring topics and share a good percentage of total marks of the exam. So, donâ??t ignore it at any stake.

Chemistry: Enough time should be devoted to general principles of Organic Chemistry, as this will make the remaining part easy to comprehend. Physical Chemistry is important as numerical problems asked from this section are scoring and not too difficult. Pay special attention to learn Inorganic Chemistry as there are many facts and figures to be remembered. One can learn this topic by continuous revision.

Mathematics: One must be able to understand inter-relationship between various topics so as to know their importance. The knowledge and skills developed by understanding and preparing the chapter Coordinate Geometry, can be used to solve problems in complex numbers. The knowledge of Vectors is also very helpful in these topics. To solve problems of Probability, the student must be strong in Permutation and Combinations. Formula and problem-solving skills developed by thorough practice of Trigonometry are useful in almost all topics. Finally, there is no denying the fact that the most important tool that a mathematician has, is Calculus.

B.Tech (Duration: 4 Years) in IIT

Eligibility Criteria: 60% (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PD) marks in aggregate in board examination and JEE(Main) & JEE (Advanced).

Aerospace Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Computer Science & Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Engineering Physics
Mechanical Engineering
Metallurgical & Material Engineering
Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering

Admission to the particular branch of study shall be as decided by the Joint Admission Committee.
