Indian Government invites online applications from the Indian candidates to fill up the prestigious Posts like
Indian Revenue Service
Indian Police Service
Indian Foreign Service
Indian Administrative Service

Eligibility criteria:
The age limit for General Category aspirants is 21-30 years.
For SC/ST Aspirants it is 21-35 years
For OBC it is 21-33 years
Aspirants must have to pass Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University are eligible to apply this exam.
Aspirants who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical degree Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination.
candidates should be citizen of India.
The candidates who is a Ex-service men will get a exception of 5 years from the prescribed limits.

Selection procedure:
The selection process of IAS exam comprises of following two steps:
Written test
Personal interview
IAS examination offers following no.of attempts:
General-4 times
No limit for SC/ST applicants
OBC -7 times

Hey buddy any graduate student from recognized Indian university is eligible for Civil service exam for the IAS exam so you as B.Tech CSE Graduate is also eligible


But you cannot opt for Computer science as one subject because it is not listed in optionals provided by UPSC.


You need to start your preparation one year in advance so as to cover both the optionals .


IES EXAM ELIGBLITY;-

Nationality;-


(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limits;-

You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.

Qualifications;-

You must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Number of attempts

The maximum number of attempts restriction is effective from the examination held in 1984. In case other eligibility conditions apply:

General candidates: four attempts.
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.
