The University of Calicut is an affiliating university located at Thenjipalam in Malappuram district of Kerala state in India. It was established in 1968.

It was created through a Government plan bifurcating Kerala University. As per the plan, 4 post-graduate departments of the University of Kerala operating in Calicut were annexed to the new University along with 54 constituent colleges spread across 7 northern districts.
