15. (a) How are the structure variables declared, initiated and accessed in a C-program?

(b) Explain the Newton-Raphson method of locating root of an equation. Write a program to find the value of x using Newton- Raphson method.

PART A-
(10*2=20 marks)

ans any TEN ques..

All ques. carry equal marks.

1. elaborate centripetal and centrifugal forces?

2. Write a note on centrifuge.

3. describe - bending moment.

4. Write a note on lubrication.

5. discuss briefly on liquefication of gases.

6. What is ultrasonics? Mention 2 uses of ultrasonics.

7. What is a capacitor? Mention any 2 uses of it.

8. discuss the construction of a potentiometer.

9. State the laws of refraction.

10. What is the meaning of spherical and chromatic aberration in lenses?

11. A sonometer wire of length 19.5 cm is unison with a fork of frequency 384 Hz. How many beats per 2nd will be heard if the length is reduced by two mm without changing the tension?

12. If the charge provided to a sphere of radius 10 cm is two *10^-2 coloumb, obtain the potential of the sphere.

19. compute the work done in blowing a soap bubble of radius 10 cm to radius 15 cm. Surface tension of soap solution = 0.035 N/m.

20. find the expression for the composition of 2 SHMs at right angles to eacher other. explain the effects.

21. find the relation ranging from 3 elastic modulii q, n and k.

22. What is entropy? And explain the change of entropy in an irreversible process.

23. What is the capacitance of a spherical condenser with air medium, whenthe outer sphere is earthed? Show that there is always loss of energy due to sharing of charges.

24. What is dispersive power of prism? Briefly define how 2 narrow angled prisms of various dispersive powers may be combined to produce dispersion without deviation and deviation without dispersion.

25. A uniform metal disc of diameter 0.1 m and mass 1.2 kg is fixed symmetrically to the lower end of a torsion wire (Length one m and diameter 1.44*10^-3 m), the upper end of which is fixed. The time period of torsional oscillations is 1.98 second. compute the modulus of rigidity of the material of the wire.
