There are many Scholarships offered by Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Students in India. Here, I am listing you few of them: 1. Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST Senior) 1st and 2nd year students of MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BDS/Engineering or other courses and class 12 (Science stream) can apply under category ‘Senior I’. 3rd and 4th year students can also apply under ‘Senior II’ category. 2. Bharati Scheme for Education (BSE), Andhra Pradesh The applicant and his/her parents must belong to the Brahmin community and the parents must be residing in Andhra Pradesh. Since students of class 1 to PG are eligible for this scholarship, students pursuing medicine and allied courses at UG and PG level can also apply. One must have passed all the subjects till their previous year of study. The annual family income must not be more than INR 3,00,000. The applicant must not be availing any other scholarship benefit, except the benefits from Archaka Welfare Trust. 3. Vijayalakshmi R.L. Jalappa Scholarship The applicant must be from Arya Idiga community and be a resident of Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajnagara, Hassan, Chitradurga, Davanagere or Bellary districts. The candidate must be pursuing PUC, Diploma, ITI, any general degree, B.E., BVSC, B.Pharma, BHMS, BDS, MBBS, any master’s degree, MVSC or M.Pharma. The candidate must have scored 60% or above cut off percentage. All the family members of the applicant must be a holder of BPL card, low-income farmers or agricultural labourers. The candidate must be a regular student. 4. Swami Dayanand Education Foundation Merit-cum-Means Scholarships The applicants must be pursuing the course of MBBS, Pharmacy, Engineering, IT or Architecture from a government or private institution in India. The students must have taken admission in the desired course after passing a competitive exam conducted by Central/State board. The annual family income must not exceed INR 6 Lakh. The candidate must have scored at least 85% marks in class 12. The applicant must have scored a Grade Point Average of a minimum 7.5 in 10 points scale system (for students in their 2nd or 3rd year of graduation programme). The applicant must not be the recipient of any other scholarship/financial assistance from any other source. 5. Sahu Jain Trust Loan Scholarship One must be pursuing a graduate or postgraduate level degree course in the technical stream such as Infotech, MBA, Medical, Engineering etc. 6. Indian Oil Educational Scholarship Scheme Candidates must score more than 65% in 12th standard. Candidates must be a regular student in a related stream in schools/ colleges/ institutes and are planning for MBBS 4-year duration course. 7. API MBBS Scholarship One must be a native to Karnataka. One should be studying in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences or autonomous/ deemed universities recognized by MCI and are accredited by National Board of Exams in Karnataka state. One should have been selected through NEET (UG). Parent’s income of one should be less than INR 3, 60,000 per annum. Scholarship will be provided till the completion of the MBBS program. In case of a tie, the candidate from the rural background will be preferred. 8. Manipal University - Free- Ship and Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship One who secures AIR within 2,000 in NEET is eligible for the Free-Ship Scholarship in Kasturba Medical College at Manipal and Mangalore for MBBS. |
