Arizona State University School of Social Work prepares social work practitioners committed to social justice and to serving and empowering individuals, families, and communities. The Goal of the school is to Preparing professionals who understand and respect social and cultural diversity at the local, national, and international level.

Courses Offered by the ASU

Bachelors of Social Work(BSW): The BSW program is one of the two programs in Arizona fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Masters in Social Work(MSW) : Master of Social Work Program (MSW) prepares professional social work practitioners for advanced direct practice or planning, administration, and community practice, each with a special emphasis on populations of the Southwest.

PhD : The PhD offers an interdisciplinary perspective that includes courses both within social work and in other disciplines.

Certificate: The School of Social Work offers graduate certificates for students interested in adding specializations to their social work knowledge. The certificates include:
Graduate Certificate in Assessment of Integrative Health Modalities
Graduate Certificate in Latino Cultural Competency
Graduate Certificate in Trauma and Bereavement (CTB)
Graduate Certificate Program in Treating Animal Abuse
Foundational Graduate Certificate in Gerontology
Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation

Field Education : Field Education is offered concurrently with academic study. Students are assigned to a social service agency and complete an internship placement under the guidance and supervision of an experienced professional social worker called a Field Instructor.
