ASRB Net Eligibility

Does Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) also conduct the national eligibility test (NET)? Is yes then what is eligibility criteria to apply for NET and if you have notification of the exam then forward on my email id as soon as possible?

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducted a combined ARS2017 (Preliminary) and NET (I)-2018 Exam during 06.04.2018 to 13.04.2018 in online mode at 23 Centres across India.

National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying exam for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs).

One clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities/ Agricultural Universities.

SAUs/AUs will satisfy themselves with regard to fulfilment of prescribed eligibility condition/criterion for requisite posts of Lecturers/Assistant Professors including authenticity of the NET Certificate in the possession of the candidates.

ASRB NET Eligibility

Nationality


A candidate must be either:-
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a citizen of Nepal, or
(iii) a citizen of Bhutan, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that one belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India

Age

One must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01.01.2018. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test.


Educational Qualifications

One must possess a Masters degree or equivalent in the concerned Discipline and specialization completed from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or one must have qualification from a foreign University recognized as equivalent by the Government of India (GoI).


Fee
One seeking admission to examination must pay to the Board a fee as follows:
