The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) (earlier Academic Staff College), Panjab University, was one of the first colleges to be established in India in October, 1987 immediately after the NPE highlighted the need to have such centres.

Its mission is to equip higher education teachers with necessary knowledge, information and skills to deal with the challenges and to meet the expectations of the society.
