The Government of Assam conducts the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) examination. Two examinations are carried out by APSC.

Eligbility Crtieria

Nationality :
The Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit :
Candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 38 years.

Educational Qualification:
The candidate must hold a Degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India.
Or other Educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess such qualification as may be declared equivalent by the Government.
Candidates awaiting results of the qualifying examination on the closing date of submission of an application need not apply.

Pattern & Syllabus of APSC
The Examination consists of two stages
The Preliminary
The Main Examination

Preliminary Examination
This exam consists of two papers and for each paper, 2 hours is allocated. A screening test is evaluated in this examination. Multiple choice questions are there in this section. Aspirants must pass this examination to proceed in the main examination.

One Optional Subject

Main Examination and Personality Test
Candidates who are declared qualified in the Main Examination will allow for a personality test. The personality test carries 200 marks.The written exam consists of four papers of three hours each

Two Optional Subjects
Optional Subject list
Agriculture
Anthropology
Animal Husbandry & Vety Science
Botany
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Chemistry
Commerce
Computer Science

Electrical Engineering

Fisheries
Geography
Geology

Law
Modern Languages and Literature &
Classical Language (any one only)
