The following regulations for passing marks out of 100 is applicable to the students admitted to M.E / M.Tech., M.C.A and M.B.A. courses in Anna University Chennai.

The following will be the weightage for different courses.

i) Lecture or Lecture cum Tutorial based course:
Internal Assessment - 20%
End Semester Examination - 80%

ii) Laboratory based courses
Internal Assessment - 20%
End Semester Examination - 80%

iii) Project work
Internal Assessment - 20%
Evaluation of Project Report
by external examiner - 30%
Viva-Voce Examination - 50%

iv) Practical training / summer project / seminar
Internal Assessment - 100%

Passing Requirements
One who secures minimum 50% of total marks prescribed for the course with a minimum of 50% of the marks prescribed for each of the course of the End-Semester University Exam in both theory and practical courses is declared to have passed in the course and acquired the relevant number of credits.
