About the AMIE :

AMIE is a B.Tech level examination in engineering, recognized by all State Governments, Central Govt., AICTE, UPSC etc as equivalent to B.E/B.Tech. That means, those who pass AMIE examination will get equal opportunities for job as well as higher education in both Govt. and private sectors, just like a B.E or B.Tech holde

Duration : the maximum period available for completing the course is 12 years. This is the time available for clearing Section A and Sectioon B. Six years time is given for clearing all subjects in Section A and another six years is given for clearing all subjects in Section B

Eligibility :

1. A recognized 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or its equivalent in any branch of engineering. (No marks restriction)
OR
2. +2/HSC/PDC with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with minimum 45% marks.


Structure of the AMIE Exam


There are two sections, namely Section A and Section B, in this examination. Section A is common for all candidates. Under Section B, a particular discipline of engineering has to be chosen from among the streams offered.

The examinations are held twice every year, called Summer and Winter examinations, normally in June and December respectively (Generally from first Saturday). Each paper is 3 hours long (unless specifically mentioned otherwise in the list of subjects).
