The objective of B.E. Marine Engineering Program offered by AMET (Academy of Maritime Education and Training) University is to attain knowledge to carry out the watch keeping duties of an engineer officer on board a ship in a safely manner and to attain Knowledge to maintain and operate machinery and equipment fitted on board ships at operational level.


B.E. Marine Engineering

Duration:
4 years (8 semesters)

Eligibility:
One must have pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) or its equivalent, with minimum 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry group and at least 50% marks in English.
Passport is mandatory.

Mode of Selection:
Written/Personal/Medical Examination

Age:
Below 25 years at the time of commencement of the Programme

Medical Standard:
One should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight up to 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no colour blindness

Lateral Entry

One can join 2nd year of 4-Year Marine Engineering Degree Course who have passed 3 years Diploma Course, in addition to the three years regular Diploma Course in Mechanical/ Electrical /Electrical & Electronics Engineering, in following categories, from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 60% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course.

Mechanical Engineering Stream:
3 years Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Machine Tools and Maintenance /Plant Engineering, Production Technology, Production Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Tool & Die Making

Electrical Engineering Stream:
3 years Diploma in Electrical Power System

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Stream:
3 years Diploma in Digital Electronics, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Production & Maintenance, Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control

Course Duration:
3yrs (residential course)

Age Limit:
Below 24 years at the time of commencement of the course.
