National Board of Examinations (NBE) had conducted National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS). The exam is conducted annually every year as a single-window entrance exam.

The exam grants admission to around 1326 Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) seats under 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% state quota, seats offered by deemed/central universities and ESIC. From all the government dental colleges, 50% seats will be reserved for AIQ candidates, while the remaining 85% seats will be available for state quota seats.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET MDS 2020

One must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/ recognised dental college.

One who after passing the final qualifying exam (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GOI/DCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship/ practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March 2020 can take up this exam.


NEET MDS 2020 Exam Pattern

There will be multiple choice questions (240 questions) in two parts – Part A and Part B.
Time allotted for the exam – 180 minutes.
For the wrong answers, 25% marks will be deducted.
For un-attempted questions, no marks will be subtracted.
4 marks are given for each correct answer.
The medium of the exam is English.
