Hii sir I want to get details of National Eligibility Test (NET). So would you please provide me Eligibility Criteria National Eligibility Test (NET).

The , also known as UGC NET or CBSE NET, is a test to determine eligibility for college and university level lecturership and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship for Indian nationals.

Eligibility Criteria

i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC (list attached page No. 22 to 48) in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. (list of subjects of post graduation attached at page No. 19 to 20) are eligible for this Test

The OBC belonging to non-creamy layer/SC/ST/PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Masters degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test

ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Masters degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test


Age Limit

i) Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 30 years as on 01.07.2018. A relaxation up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Non- creamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available


Examination Pattern

The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions

First (Paper-I): 100 Marks (50 out of which 50 questions all are compulsory) [Duration: 1 Hours

Second (Paper-II): 200 Marks (100 questions all are compulsory) [Duration: 2 Hours
Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks

. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate

Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

All the questions of Paper-II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi of earlier Paper II & Paper-III (including all electives, without options).
