The Aligarh Muslim University has a Biochemistry department. The Department of Biochemistry was established in 1986.

The Department is offers B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry.

The department is generously funded by all major funding bodies like UGC-SAP-DRS-III, DST-FIST, DST PURSE and DBT-BUILDER programmes.

The faculty members of the department have contributed many book chapters and published research papers and review articles in several high impact peer-reviewed international journals.
