The Washington, DC Aligarh Alumni Association (AAA) facilitated their yearly Mushaira, the center of which was to respect and commend the excellence of the Urdu dialect.

The two days occasion – which was held in Germantown, Maryland, from September 28-29 – was gone to by more than 500 individuals, purportedly every one of whom talk, comprehend, read and compose fluidly in Urdu. Participants originated from all edges of the US, and India and Pakistan.

The mushaira commenced with a conjuring by Dr. Razi Raziuddin, the president of the AAA.

The second day of the occasion included an address from Dr. Salman Akhtar, educator of brain science and human conduct at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

The AAA is a graduated class relationship for the individuals who went to the Aligarh Muslim University, in Aligarh, India. Their Washington, DC branch has been facilitating yearly mushairas – regularly characterized as a verse symposium in which writers from different better places meet up in one area to share their work and praise the magnificence of verse – for a long time.
