About Alan Howe:
Head of Department for Education Studies, which comprises around 20 staff. The programme offers a variety of honours awards to over 550 students interested in exploring educational issues from a number of perspectives.

Research interest:
Founding member of the Centre for Research in Early Scientific Learning (CRESL) which is involved in a number of projects and initiatives and current research interests are related to science, technology and creativity in primary and teacher education, although don't get the time to teach much science these days.

Past teachings:
Before teaching at Bath Spa University he taught in primary schools in the London area, Bristol and Bath.
