Rules of examination: 1. The medium of examination shall be English. 2. Anatomy and Physiology:- Question paper will consist of Section A (Anatomy) of 37 marks and Section B (Physiology) of 38 marks. 3. Nutrition and Biochemistry:- Question paper will consist of Section-A Nutrition of 45 marks and Section B of Biochemistry of 30 marks. 4. Pathology and genetics:- Question paper will consists of Section-A Pathology of 45 Marks and Section B of Genetics of 30 Marks. 5. Nursing Research & Statistics:- Nursing Research should be of 50 marks and Statistics of 25 marks. 6. Theory & Practical exams for Computer & Nursing Informatics and Hindi to be conducted as college exam and marks to be sent to the Dean (Examination)/ Examination Controller, AIIMS for inclusion in the Detail Marks Sheet. 7. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical papers separately but for English minimum pass marks shall be 40%. 8. A candidate must have minimum 80% attendance in theory and 90% in practical (irrespective of the kind of absence) for appearing in examination. However, in extreme circumstances beyond the control of the candidate 5% waive off of attendance may be done by Principal/ HOD Nursing.
9. A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before award of Degree. 10. A candidate has to pass in theory and practical exam separately in both internal and external of each paper. 11. If a candidate fails in the subject (either theory or practical) has to appear in the examination for both theory and practical paper of that subject. 12. If a candidate fails in any subject, maximum three attempts (including first attempt) are permitted for each subject. 13. Provision of supplementary examinations should be made once in a year in between the session. 14. A candidate, who fails in up to two papers, shall be admitted provisionally in the next year but she has to clear those papers in next two subsequent examinations. If the candidate taking supplementary examination along with next year examination her result of next class will be declared only if she passes previous examination. Incase if she fails to clear supplementary examination in two subsequent attempts she would deemed to have failed. 15. If any candidate who could not pass all the subjects in 3 chances, including the regular chance their result shall be declared as failed and she has to appear in all the subjects of that year in the subsequent annul examination. 16. A candidate failing in more than two subjects will not be promoted to the next year and she has to appear in all the subjects of that year in subsequent annul examination without attending the regular course of instruction. However, if candidate wish re-attend the course of instruction of that year; she may avail this opportunity by paying the prescribed fee of that year. Furthermore, candidate may have a provision to improve the internal assessment marks of that year. 17. The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed eight years. 18. An examiner should be an Assistant Professor or above position in a College of Nursing with M.Sc. Nursing qualification in respective subject and minimum of 3 years of teaching experience after obtaining postgraduate nursing qualification at Collegiate/ University level. 19. Maximum number of candidates for all practical examination should not exceed 30 per day. 20. All practical examinations must be held in the respective clinical areas. 21. Internal and External Examiner should jointly conduct practical examination of each student.
22. Grace marks and re-evaluation is not permitted in any subject. However, rechecking of the papers may be allowed if a candidate desires. 23. Declaration of class shall done as follows: a. A successful candidate obtaining 75% and more marks in the grand total aggregate in the first attempt shall be declared to have passed with Distinction. b. A successful candidate obtaining 60% and more but less then 75% of marks in the grand total aggregate shall be declared to have passed with First Class. c. A successful candidate obtaining 50% and more marks but less than 60% of marks in the grand total aggregate shall be declared pass with Pass Class. d. Rank shall be declared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in the Annual Examination subjects of the course. Only those candidates who have passed all the subjects in all examination in the first attempt shall the eligible for the award of Rank. 24. Meritorious candidates will be awarded medals as per Institute Policy.
