The Xavier Institute of Management in Bhubaneshwar originated as a result of a social contract between the Orissa Jesuit Society and the government of Orissa. The institute started in 1987. Programmes Fellow management programme - full time residential programme for about two years, oriented towards doctoral- level education in management and related disciplines. Postgraduate diploma in management - two year full time programme. Postgraduate diploma in management (part time) - three year programme. Postgraduate diploma in management (weekend programme) - three year programme with 40 courses of 120 credits. Postgraduate diploma in rural management - two year course that aims to bring in professionalism in rural economy. Postgraduate certificate programme in business management - launched in 2005, the duration of this programme is 12 months. Postgraduate programme in management and insurance - one year certificate programme. FEES STRUCTURE The candidate seeking admission is required to pay Rs 6.5 lakhs ADMISSION Applicants are required to take XAT, conducted in January every year and the applicants are required to have a three-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university in any discipline.
