The Union Public Service Commission will hold a Indian Police Service Limited Competitive Examination for the purpose of filling vacancies in the Indian Police Service (IPS).

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:
The candidate must have completed 5 years of continuous and actual service as Deputy Superintendent of Police in States under State Police Service or Assistant Commandants in Central Para Military Forces.

Age Limit
Applicant’s age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years.

No. of Attempts
GEN: 4 times
OBCs: 7 times
SC/ST: No limit

Paper pattern

IPS 2014 exam consist of total 9 papers which are based on different topics.
These are as follows:

Paper I: General Studies
Paper II: Language Exam
Paper III: General English
Paper IV: Essay
Paper V, VI, VII, VIII and IX: Optional Subjects
