Re: After B.E Better Between M.E or MBA
First, understand that there is no point comparing the M.Tech and MBA degrees. Both are specific degrees and have value in their respective fields. Both M.Tech and MBA offer excellent career options and have gained significance in last few years. M.Tech or MBA is always an extra advantage to an engineer whether it is in terms of knowledge, experience or seniority. Whether be it a manufacturing, IT or R&D driven organisation, there would be desire for both M.Techs and MBAs. The former would be more of a focus matter specialist, while the latter would touch product marketing, sales, project management, human resources, IT process, and consulting or customer service management. Doing M.Tech in a particular field will certainly make one more valuable to a company that has business profile of that field. MBA, on other hand, will provide you a totally different business perspective and is broader in scope. Ideally, one should make the choice on the basis of his capabilities, career goals and interests. If one wants to continue his career in technical field, M.Tech is the right choice for him. One can even switch to teaching or research. But if one wants to work in the industry, MBA is the way to go. MBA is a management course that will augment your managerial, communication and presentation skills. After MBA, one can get the entry to the field of business and administration where he can go in for options like marketing, sales, human resources and operation management. Specifically, M.Tech is appropriate for a product-based industry where technical skills are required. MBA is more right for a service- and customer-oriented industry. Engineering graduates having a management degree are just the thing for front-end sales, field applications and customer facing jobs. However, if an organisation is modernization hungry, pure engineering with master’s specialisation is a lethal combination! |
