Yes you can starts preparation for Indian police service examination after 12th exam. To apply for IPS exam you have to passed graduation level degree in any discipline.


You have to give at least 6 to 7 hours per day for studies , you have to make notes for important topics of IPS exam AND revised them regularly . for better preparation you have to solve previous paper or buy books for it


Scheme of CS (Preliminary) Examination
The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type maximum of 400 marks.

Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political.
System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development-Sustainable.
Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social.
Sector Initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.

Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
