As you want to do AED course from St John Ambulance I would like to inform you that AED is Automated external defibrillation.

Course content is following:
• The role of the first aider
• Managing an emergency
• Communication and casualty care
• Chest pains
• Getting to know the AED (any type)
• Operating the AED
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty
• Resuscitation (CPR)

Course duration: Two hours
Certification: Candidates receive a St John Ambulance certificate, valid for one year.

Details about Automated external defibrillation:
A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. A person's chance of survival falls by about 14% for each minute that passes without defibrillation so automated external defibrillation is useful to save life of persons who have Cardiac problem.

The risk of death can be reduced if you have a defibrillator in your workplace and know how to use it.

This half-day course will give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively. Most importantly, the course will also teach you to operate.
