For getting admission in Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology (IIST) in B.Tech after 12thcandidate should appear in ISAT exam.

Eligibility for admission :

Candidate should pass 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

Admission :
Based on the merit of ISAT exam.

IIST or Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology conducts admission to the following programmes to eligible Indian citizens:

4-Year B.Tech Programme in Aerospace Engineering (60 Seats)
4-Year B.Tech Programme in Avionics (60 Seats)

Candidates need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) conducted by IITs.

Candidates seeking admission to IIST should have passed their Qualifying Exam, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of the curriculum Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must score an aggregate of minimum 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in the qualifying exam and those belonging to SC/ST/PD should have an aggregate of at least 60% marks in PCM subjects in the qualifying exam.

Students need to score the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE (Advanced) as given below:-

(a) General Candidates (GEN): At least 20% marks in aggregate and at least 5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

(b) Other Backward Community – Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) Candidates: At least 18% marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

(c) Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe(ST) & Persons with Disabilities(PD) Candidates: At least 10% marks in aggregate and at least 2.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

In JEE-(Advanced) , maximum mark for each subject is 120 and the aggregate is 360. Accordingly, the minimum (cut-off) marks for each subject and the aggregate, which should be secured for eligibility to apply for admission in IIST is tabulated below:

As per the reservation policy of Government of India applicable to Central Educational Institutions (CEI), candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories and the corresponding percentage of reservation are as given below:

(i) Scheduled Castes (SC) : 15%
(ii) Scheduled Tribes (ST) : 7.5%
(iii) Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) : 27%
(iv) Physically Disabled (PD) : 3% (Horizontal Reservation)
