Indria Gandhi National Open University also Famous as INGO which was established in September 1985 by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 50 of 1985) with a view to democratize higher education, vocations and professions. The area of Engineering and Technology was one of those areas which were identified in early years keeping in view the emergent need of continuing education and re-training requirements of those at work.

The School of Engineering and Technology came into existence in 1987 with a clear mandate to address the issues pertaining to continuing and extension education requirements in the country. INGO offered Engineering and Technology in the diploma courses for 2 year in the session 2011.

Eligibility:
(A) (i) 10th Pass with 55% marks or
(ii) 10th Pass with ITI Certificate or
(iii) 10th Pass with Certificate in Motorcycle Service and Repair (CMSR) of IGNOU.
(B) Candidates should be employed in Central or State level Manufacturing Industries or in Public or in Private Sector Manufacturing Industries or in Other related organizations employing similar manpower or Self-employed in Equivalent Capacity.

My basic qualification is 10+ ITI Tractor Mechanic trade in one year. Now I want to do diploma in mechanical engineering through distance education.
