In the conforming to held in October 1962, the Governing Board of the College decided to name it after an eminent engineer, planner, and statesman of the Country Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The Main objective of establishing VNIT Nagpur was to contribute quality technical education during the country and foster national integration. The VNIT Nagpur provides graduate, postgraduate and Diploma program.
