UNESCO Full Form
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is a specified agency of the United Nations founded on 16 November 1945. Its submitted aim is to add to peace and security by encouraging international collaboration by education, science, and culture in order to encourage universal regard for justice, the rule of law, and the human rights along with central freedoms proclaimed in the UN Charter. It is the heir of the League of Nations’ International Commission on Intellectual Cooperation.
UNESCO has 193 Member States and seven Associate Members. The organization is based in Paris, with over fifty area offices and many specialized institutes and centers all around the world. Most of the area offices are “cluster” offices extending 3 or more nations; there are also national and territorial offices. UNESCO engages its aims by 5 major programs: education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and communication and information.
