University of Florida Juris Doctor(JD) Program
The University Of Florida College Of Law combines traditional and advanced teaching methods to offer a dynamic professional program. The University Of Florida offered 3-year Juris Doctor Program is planned to develop students’ analytical ability, communications skills, practical knowledge, and an understanding of the codes of responsibility and ethics that are central to the practice of law. The required 1st-year program teaches students to read and analyze cases, to research points of law expeditiously and to express those points clearly in the context of subject matter basic to their legal education.
Juris Doctor Requirements
Satisfaction of Advanced Writing Requirement by the completion of a seminar (LAW 6936), an authorized advanced course, an Independent Research—Advanced Writing Requirement course, an authorized masters thesis or doctoral dissertation authorized by a College of Law faculty member or by a note accepted for publication in a co-curricular law school journal as attested by the faculty advisor for the journal.
