Tamil University
The Tamil University was launched with the aim of to supply higher research in Tamil Language and encouraged study in several other allied branches such as Linguistics, Translation, Lexicography, Music, Drama and Manuscriptology. It was founded in the year 1981.Tamil university has five faculties with 22 departments. It focalizes on advancement of studies in Tamil through several projects and programs. It is a State University and the member of AIU(The Association of Indian Universities).Tamil University encourages advance studies and research in Tamil. It is UGC recognized. NAAC has placed it B++ grade.
