Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya was launched on 12th June, 1956 under the Jabalpur University Act, 1956, with territorial jurisdiction airing over Jabalpur revenue district. In the year 1983, the University was named as Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya to honour the well recognized valiant Gond Queen of Garha Mandla. Formerly cognized as University of Jabalpur, Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya (RDVV), has been licensed with the status of a University and has been ranked as ‘B++’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).The location of the University was transferred to its present position at Saraswati Vihar, Pachpedi, Jabalpur in 1961. The University conducts B.Ed programme in education department of University.
