Barkatullah University, antecedently famous as the Bhopal University, was instituted in 1970 in the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. Later in 1988 the name was changed to Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya in memory of Prof. Barkatullah, a great freedom fighter from Bhopal
