AIIMS WEBSITE 2011
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was made in 1956 to do as a nucleus for raising excellence in all aspects of health care. It was based as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objectives to spring up patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India.

Eligibility
10+2 pass students or appearing for the same exam in the concurrent year with an at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English are eligible to apply for the AIIMS entrance exam.

Functions of AIIMS
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in medical and related physical biological sciences.
Nursing and dental education
Innovations in education.
Producing medical teachers for the country.
Research in medical and related sciences.
