University Of Mumbai Directorate of Distance Education Distance & Open Learning is a clear-cut approach to contribute education to individuals who are remote in space and / or time from the educators or the teaching institution on account of economic, social and justification. A demand for such an approach was found by the University of Mumbai and therefore it founded the Directorate of Correspondence Courses in the year 1971-72. In the year 1993, the Directorate of Distance Education was improved as ‘Institute of Distance Education’ It thus developed a status as a ‘University Institution’.
Directorate of Distance Education University Of Mumbai offers courses such as:- B.A., B.Com., M.A., M.Com., M.A.-Education,, M.Sc. (Maths), P.G.D.F.M. & P.G.D.O.R.M.
The program suits the demands of both full-time and part-time students as well as online learners by applying a form of delivery manners admitting in-person on-site sessions like the most recent synchronous and asynchronous online learning technology, and a possible future video conferencing. Students may take part in the educational programs even if they do not live near the University campus. Each program may be taken exclusively online.
