On 12/02/1991, the Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya Satna Madhya Pradesh (MGCGV Satna Madhya Pradesh) was launched by a separate MP Govt. Act (9, 1991) on the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri at Chitrakoot, Distt. Satna (M.P.). The primary aims of the MGCGV Satna Madhya Pradesh are to offer education and dissemination of appropriate technology.

The MGCGV has jurisdiction in the entire MP state. Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya is located at Chitrakoot in Satna in Madhya Pradesh state in India.
