Public Service Commission, Maharashtra is the administering authority for directing Maharashtra State Civil Services examination in the state. Besides the Civil Service examination, commission also guides many other examinations and carries out selection procedure of applicant for service into different departments of Maharashtra state government. The office of the commission is located in the state capital Mumbai.
Following functions and activities:
MPSC directs examinations for appointment to the several civil services of the state.
furnishes advice to the government on Methods of recruitment to civil services posts
Principles to be followed while making selections of the applicant and, promotions and transfers to civil services and posts. on disciplinary matter referred with the civil servants claim made through a civil servant with respect to the recovery of expenditure incurred by him/her in defending himself/herself in the court of law against the legal proceeding initiated through the government for not execution of his/her duty.Claim made through a civil servant in respect to injuries sustained through him/her while serving the state government.
