The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) founded in 1889, is one of the prime research institutions committed to livestock research and growth of the area. The institute with module force of more than 275 has a major authorization of research, teaching, consultancy and technology transfer activities. The institute undertakes basic, advanced and applied research by 85 externally furnished projects. A number of national and international research plans on animal health and production systems are covered by the institute.
