IIT Kanpur Placement Procedure
Student Placement Office of IIT Kanpur organizes for placement and summer internship for the IITians. It prepares placements in two phases. Initially, pre-placement talks are held between August to October by various recruiters to give the students and thought about the companies’ profile. The campus recruitment process is taken up between December and April. SPO sets for pre-placement talks and campus interviews as well as fixes the dates for the same. It prioritizes allotting dates to a company on the base of the compensation package provided, job profile and past record of recruitment by the company at IIT Kanpur. There are placement coordinators for each department at UG and PG levels.
IIT Kanpur Placement Records
The medium salary during IIT Kanpur Placements for the year 2007-08 was Rs 6.55 lacs. In the dual degree section, it was Rs 9.49 lac, while for B.Tech students it was Rs 6.67 lacs. The average salary for M.Tech department was Rs 5.97 lacs and Rs 8.61 lacs for MBA students. For M.Sc. (Int.) department, the average salary was Rs 6.59 lacs and Rs 5.11 lacs for M.Sc. (2 yr) department.
