The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (placed at Hauz Khas) (once College of Engineering & Technology Delhi), commonly famous as IIT Delhi or IITD, is a leading college of engineering in Delhi, India. It forms a part of the league along with other IITs in India: the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee. The institute was founded as College of Engineering & Technology, Delhi on August 21, 1961. Its foundation stone was laid by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and was introduced by Prof.Humayun Kabir, then Union Minister for Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs.

Eligibility
Students must have any one of the following qualifications
Student having Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology/ Architecture/Urban & Rural Planning/ Sciences/ Humanities & Social Sciences and Management in respective field or equal with at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6 can appear for the examination.
Students having B.Tech./B.Arch. degree with a lower limit of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7 and valid GATE Score(at least 75 percentile) or NET (JRF/LS) qualification carried on by UGC/CSIR for Science/ Humanities and Social Sciences fields can also apply for the examination. Graduates from any of the IITs or University of Roorkee having engineering or architecture degree with a CGPA of 8 can also apply.
