IIM Calcutta Placements
The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was founded as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961 in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry. During its initial years, various prominent faculty formed component of its nucleus, admitting Paul Samuelson, Jagdish Sheth, J. K. Sengupta, among others.
Placement
IIM Calcutta has been regarded as one of the prime business schools of Asia. It has always made business leaders for the industry. Due to the high caliber of teaching it provides, several foreign companies’ way IIM and its students are inducted into lots esteemed positions. The institute invariably grooms its students to develop them for several interviews that follow after completion of their professional courses.
IIM Calcutta Placement procedure
Several companies pay a visit to the campus to carry on ‘pre-placement’ talks with the candidates. Students are briefed about the recruiting organizations and the list of chances that lay ahead of them. Students are given the choice of applying to these companies. There are generally 2 companies per day, who take the interviews in 2 positions. This goes on for 3-4 days. The ranking of each student is decided after a period of time. Finally the companies come down to the campus again and make their provides to the selected candidates.
