IBSD Imphal
The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Imphal, Manipur has been founded to carryout basic and applied research on sustainable development and utilization of bioresources of the North-eastern region for their socio-economic upliftment. The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) is one of the autonomous institutes under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. IBSD Mission is bioresources development and their sustainable apply via biotechnological interventions for the socio-economic development of the region. IBSD aim is provided to develop biotechnological interventions for sustainable growth and utilization of bioresources and catered to undertake capacity building in bioresouces conservation and management. The region also falls in the bio-geographic tri-junction and a centre of gene variety for various domestic crops and a secondary center for various economically important plant and animal species.
