The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education was founded under Act 14 of 1968, in 1969 with Headquarter in Shimla. In 1983, the Board Headquarter moved to Dharamshala in Kangra District. Its determination is at the hills of the Dhauladhar ranges of west side of Himalayas overlooking picturesque Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh.
