Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education established in 1969. the Board had its main office at Shimla, which was afterward transferred to Dharamshala in Kangra District in 1983. Currently, the Board directs exams for the 8th,10th, Plus One and Plus Two classes. In addition, departmental exam like J.B.T., T.T.C and P.V.T.C are also being directed through the Board. The Education Board prescribes syllabi, courses of educations and text books for school education in Himachal Pradesh besides directing exams based on such program. As many as 4.5 lac students yearly appear in the exams conducted by the Board . HP board lanched by an Act No.14 of 1968. Until 1982,
