The Bangalore University Yoga Centre came to existence in 1995. Dr. N R Shetty (Hon'ble Vice Chancellor) and Dr. H R Nagendra (Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, SVYASA) were behind the establishment of Yoga Centre. Certificate Course and M.Sc. in Yoga studies started during the year 2006-07 and 2007-08 respectively.

Eligibility:

a) Eligibility for M.Sc. in Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences:
One with a Bachelor's Degree in any subject, of a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks.

b) Eligibility for Yoga Instructor Course (Certificate Course):
One who has attained 18 years of age and has a minimum qualification of PUC passed is eligible to seek admission.

c) Eligibility for PG Diploma in Yoga Studies:
One who has degree in any faculty of this University or any recognized University. Preference may be given to those who have completed certificate course.
