The Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics & Chemistry was founded in 2002 upon the merger of the former Xinjiang Institute of Physics and the Xinjiang Institute of Chemistry.

XTIPC was applied for 75 Chinese invention patents and one US invention patent. In the same period, it has been granted 57 invention patents. Institute researchers have published over 150 papers, including 113 SCI papers.
