Continuous-Time Fourier Transform:
From Fourier series to the Fourier transform—the Fourier integral and its inversion—conditions for the existence of the Fourier transform—transforms of some useful functions—properties of the Fourier transform—Fourier transform of periodic signals—frequency response of systems with rational transfer function.

Laplace Transform:
Definition—region of convergence and its properties—Laplace transform properties—inverse Laplace transform through the method of partial fraction expansion—unilateral Laplace transform—application of the unilateral Laplace transform for solving RLC circuits with initial conditions—system response to a suddenly applied input.

State Variable Analysis:
Introduction to the notion of ‘state’—systematic procedure for determining state equations—solution of state equations using Laplace transform—definition of exp(A) where A is a matrix—time domain solution of state equations.
