Will I qualify GATE examination with 21.70 marks in Mechanical discipline??? What is the cutoff mark for it???

Sorry to say you, but you may not qualify GATE examination with 21.70 marks in Mechanical discipline.

As This year Mechanical GATE paper was very easy. So the cut-off is expected to go very high, it will above 30 for general student and for SC it will be more than 25.

As you have 21.70 marks in Mechanical discipline, you may not get seat in any good college, I would suggest you to apply for the GATE examination again and try to score good marks…………….

This is the GATE instrumentation engineering Last years question paper:

Signals from fifteen thermocouples are multiplexed and each one is sampled once per second with a
16-bit ADC. The digital samples are converted by a parallel to serial converter to generate a serial
PCM signal. This PCM signal is frequency modulated with FSK modulator with 1200 Hz as 1 and
960 Hz as 0. The minimum band allocation required for faithful reproduction of the signal by the
FSK receiver without considering noise is
(A) 840 Hz to 1320 Hz (B) 960 Hz to 1200 Hz
(C) 1080 Hz to 1320 Hz (D) 720 Hz to 1440 Hz

Its totally depends on that particular year GATE cut offs, you did not mention the year of the GATE exam and your category.

GATE 2014 mechanical cut off

General: 28.86
SC/ST/PD: 25.97
OBC (Non Creamy): 19.24

GATE 2013 mechanical cut off

General: 25.0
SC/ST/PD: 16.67
OBC (Non Creamy): 22.5

GATE 2012 mechanical cut off

General: 27.14
SC/ST/PD: 18.09
OBC (Non Creamy): 24.42

GATE 2011 mechanical cut off

General: 27.14
SC/ST/PD: 18.09
OBC (Non Creamy): 24.42

GATE 2010 mechanical cut off

General: 25.00
SC/ST/PD: 16.70
OBC (Non Creamy): 22.50

So according to cut off, I think you will not get the GATE score card.
