Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, formerly the University of Roorkee and the Thomason College of Civil Engineering, is a public university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India.

Cognizance is the annual technical festival (techfest) of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R). Established in 2003, it has celebrated its 13th edition in 2015. Its the second largest technical festival of Asia.
