Western Carolina University was established in the year 1889. It is located at Cullowhee, North Carolina, United States .

Half Marathon Race Fee:

$40 through February 27th

$80 Race Day Registration (including in person registration on March 25th, 26th, 27th, or 28th)

$60 February 28th - March 24th (Pre-registration ends on March 24th)

Awards and Finisher's Prizes

Finisher's receive a finisher's glass and Valley of the Lilies car magnet.

Finisher's prizes are awarded to all half marathon finishers.

The top three male and female in each age group:

13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Description of the course elevation---

Mile 1 Flat and mostly downhill

Mile 2 Flat

Mile 3 Has a moderate climb of approximately ½ mile

Mile 4 Slightly uphill

Mile 5 Significant uphill for first ½ mile, steep downhill for last ½ mile

Mile 6 Downhill and flat

Mile 7 Mostly flat, slightly rolling hills but very small inclines

Mile 8 Flat to minimal rolling hills

Mile 9 Flat to minimal rolling hills

Mile 10 Flat to minimal rolling hills

Mile 11 Very steep ¾ mile climb, this is the largest hill on the course

Mile 12 Mostly steep downhill for first ¾ mile.

Mile 13 Downhill and flat except last 1/10 mile features slight uphill to finish
