The National Center for Disability Studies (NCDS) of Indira Gandhi National Open University sorted out a progression of exercises to watch the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. A trademark fruition was composed on the subject "Consideration of people with inabilities in the public arena" in both Hindi and English for the staff individuals. The victors of the trademark rivalry and painting rivalry were granted mementoes and testaments by the Chief Guest, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Ian Cardozo, AVSM, SM and Prof. Ravindra Kumar, the Vice-chancellor at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Center, IGNOU. Maj. Gen. Cardozo, a veteran war impaired and previous Chairperson of Rehabilitation Council of India conveyed an address on "The rights and status of people with handicaps in Indian culture". He shared the battles confronted by him in the wake of getting harmed in the skirmish of Sylhet in Bangladesh and called upon the need to bolster the reason for handicap and 'never surrender'. Educator Ravindra Kumar said that IGNOU as a foundation is delicate to the requirements to learners with handicap and endeavors to give different offices to them. He called Maj. Gen. Cardozo as the principal ODL diplomat of IGNOU for advancing projects through separation training mode. Dr. Hemlata, Director, NCDS displayed the exercises of the NCDS and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. S.K. Mishra, Dy. Executive, NCDS and facilitator of the program. |
