The VIT University called Vellore Institute of Technology. The mission of VIT is to educate students from all over India, including those from the local and rural areas, and from other countries, so they become enlightened individuals, improving the living standards of their families, industry and society The VIT was ranked 12 in India Today's Best Engineering Colleges in India of 2012 The Vellore Institute of Technology conduct VIT Master's Entrance Examination (VITMEE) conducted for offering admission to the MCA & M.Tech courses, the details are as follows: VITMEE for MCA & M.Tech: Eligibility: MCA: 3 years (6 semesters) The candidate should have bachelor degree in any branch with at least one of the following subjects at the under graduate level: Computer Science, Computer Technology, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics and Business Mathematics M.Tech: 2 years (4 semesters) The VIT offers M.Tech course in following speciliazation: Automotive Engineering Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing Energy and Environmental Engineering Mechatronics Manufacturing Engineering Structural Engineering Information Technology Nanotechnology Communication Engineering Sensor System Technology VLSI Design (Very Large Scale Integrated Design) Power Electronics and Drives Computer Science and Engineering Software Technology Biotechnology Biomedical Engineering The eligibility is different for all speciliazation, so here I am giving the attachment of that page from where you can read the eligibility required: VIT M.Tech Eligibility Admission Procedure: The admission to both MCA and M.Tech programmes will be based on the Candidates performance in VITMEE conducted by VIT University. The names of short listed candidates selected to participate an interview will be published on VIT University website. The candidates selected to participate in the interview will be informed of the date and time through the website and also through SMS if mobile number is given. The candidates selected would have to pay a deposit of 10,000 towards counselling fee. Application Forms: For getting the application form steps are as follows: In Person: The application form can be obtained from the designated branches of GPO/ HPO’s on cash payment of Rs.900. By Post: The application form can be obtained by sending a demand Draft for Rs.900/- drawn in favor of VIT University payable at Vellore to the admissions officer with a request letter containing full address of the applicant. Through Website: The application Forms can be downloaded from the website of VIT. Documents to Be Submitted at the Time of Admission: The following documents in original are required to be submitted at the time of Admission: -- 10th & 12th Std. Marks statement -- Mark Sheets of all semesters / years of the qualifying examination upto prefinal / final year as applicable -- Qualifying Degree / Provisional Certificate (If already received) -- Transfer Certificate obtained from the Institute last studied. (If already received) -- Migration Certificate -- Valid GATE score card for Candidates applying For M.Tech -- Service Certificate issued by the Employer. NO negative marks for wrong answers. Syllabus: The VITMEE MCA syllabus is as given below: VITMEE MCA syllabus General English: The questions in this section will be designed to test the candidates’ general understanding of the English language. There will be questions on the following topics. Comprehension, Vocabulary, Basic English Grammar (like usage of correct forms of verbs, prepositions and articles), Word power, Synonyms and Antonyms, Meanings of words and phrases, Technical writing Mathematics: Set Theory: Concepts of sets – Union – Intersection – Cardinality – Elementary counting, permutations and combinations Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions Algebra: Fundamental operations in Algebra, Expansions, Factorization, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms- arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices. Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equations of a line, intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola. Calculus: Limit of functions, Continuous functions, Differentiation of functions, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of function by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction; Definite integrals, Applications of Definite Integrals to areas Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, General solutions of trigonometric equations Analytical ability and logical reasoning: The questions in this section will cover logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude. Some of the questions will be on comprehension of a logical situation and questions based on the facts given in the passage. Computer awareness: Computer Basics: Organization of a Computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Structure of instructions in CPU, input / output devices, computer memory, back-up devices. Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.
